Frequently asked questions about forklift trucks and warehouse equipment
The so-called storage technology includes all products that are needed for an (internal) transport and storage of goods and commodities. Storage technology therefore includes equipment with which material can be transported. This includes, for example, forklifts, lift trucks, reach trucks, narrow-aisle trucks, tractors and much more. Autonomous, i.e. driverless, warehouse technology equipment is also gaining more and more importance these days. In addition to the above-mentioned vehicles, warehouse technology also includes warehouse equipment, mostly in the form of racking systems. These mainly include pallet racks, drive-in racks, flow racks or storage platforms. In order to ensure an optimal material flow, the racking must also fit the forklift trucks and vice versa. To ensure that this works smoothly, intralogistics advice should be sought.
Industrial trucks are generally any trackless, track-bound or track-guided vehicles that are used internally for the transport of goods and commodities. These vehicles are often equipped with a function for lifting and stacking loads. Since these vehicles are mostly used as conveyors for transporting goods, they are typically used in logistics.
In contrast to “ordinary” front trucks, which get their stability mainly from a counterweight or counterbalance, reach trucks are equipped with two wheel arms at their front. The mast lies within the wheel arms and is supported by the wheels. Within these wheel arms, the lift mast can be moved forward (thrust).
The answer to this is a simple “yes”. The prerequisite for driving a forklift truck is the so-called forklift licence. This is required even if the forklift truck is only used on the company’s own premises. A simple car driving licence is not sufficient to be allowed to operate a forklift truck. In our four in-house training centres, we have been offering training for forklift drivers for many years, in addition to many other training courses.
The Light Range models
Compact dimensions for easy and precise load handling make the Linde Light Range models ideal for confined working environments. With their low dead weight, they are the compact companions for work areas where warehouse technology with low load capacities is sufficient. They therefore not only improve work in the logistics sector, but also ensure an ergonomic and relieved working day.
The low lift truck has a particularly compact design and is therefore very easy to manoeuvre – even if there is only little space available. This ensures fast handling processes in retail, in narrow warehouse aisles or in the production area. The vehicle is equipped with a lithium-ion battery that can be easily replaced via plug-and-play. Charging is done via an external charger at any power outlet. An effective parking brake keeps the vehicle firmly in position when it is on a sloping truck loading ramp, for example. The MT12 low-lift pallet truck has a robust chassis as well as a reinforced fork and thus easily transports loads of up to 1,200 kilograms.
Basically, the driver is at a safe distance during handling – the long and low-mounted tiller arm ensures this. A low chassis protects the feet. If the driver takes his hands off the butterfly switch, the electromagnetic brake stops the vehicle automatically. In addition, there is a belly switch on the tiller head that can be used to stop the MT12 in an emergency. The efficient parking brake holds the low-lift truck securely on a slope or on a sloping truck loading ramp.
The MT12 low lift pallet truck reaches a top speed of 4.5 kilometres per hour with its powerful 0.65 kW drive motor. This ensures fast handling processes when transporting loads up to 1200 kilograms total weight. Due to its compact design, the vehicle is easy to manoeuvre even in confined spaces. The lithium-ion battery guarantees non-stop operation for 3 hours. Its charging time is only 2.5 hours.
The robust DC motor enables long operating times before maintenance is due. This fundamentally reduces service costs. In case of maintenance, it is quick because the service technician reads out all data via CAN bus. An automatic lift stop at maximum lift height extends the service life of the components, protects the pump unit and reduces noise. In addition, the battery is very robust: even shorter charging cycles do not affect its service life. The battery management system interrupts the charging process if short circuits or current overloads occur.
Whether in production or retail, wherever hand pallet trucks were previously used, the electric Linde MT15 C low-lift pallet truck delivers greater handling performance with less force. In so-called pedestrian operation, the low-lift truck effortlessly transports goods weighing up to 1.5 tonnes. Due to its compact design, manoeuvring in tight curves and narrow aisles is no problem. Furthermore, it is a powerful and cost-efficient alternative to manual pallet trucks when transporting pallets at ground level over short distances. This is because this electric low-lift pallet truck relieves employees of physical strain and achieves higher productivity.
Properties
The long, low-mounted tiller keeps the operator at a safe distance from the vehicle. The low chassis prevents the operator’s feet from getting under the trolley, thus preventing accidents. If the operator removes his hands from the butterfly switch, the electromagnetic brake stops the vehicle automatically. There is also a belly switch on the tiller head that can be used to stop the pallet truck in an emergency. The MT15 C is held securely in position at all times by a parking brake, even on steep loading ramps or slopes.

Due to the 1,550 millimetre short vehicle chassis and the small turning circle of only 1,390 millimetres, the MT15 C delivers the best manoeuvrability, even in confined spaces. In particular, the operator can manoeuvre precisely in crawl speed with a vertical tiller. This makes the low-lift truck easy to operate even in confined spaces, such as in a truck. All controls are located in the ergonomically designed tiller head and are easy to reach. The Curtis control system enables particularly sensitive load handling. Speed and acceleration can be precisely adjusted to customer requirements.

Load handling on the MT15 C is effortless thanks to the electric drive and its compact design. The electric drive powerfully assists operators in their work and overcomes gradients of up to 6 per cent with and up to 16 per cent without load. Thanks to the robust chassis and reinforced forks, the vehicle can easily transport goods weighing up to 1,500 kg. The forks can be raised to a height of 115 millimetres, enabling easy load transfer, for example, onto the lifting platform of a truck. By manually lowering the fork steplessly, pallets can be unloaded quickly and at the same time precisely by the operator.

The metal covers make the electric low-lift truck a robust and reliable vehicle. The MT15 C can be operated non-stop for about 1.7 hours before the lithium-ion battery needs to be recharged. Then the battery only needs around 2.5 hours until it is fully charged again. Shorter charging cycles are no problem and do not affect the battery’s life span. A lamp indicates the remaining power, charging and error status. When the charge status is only 10 percent, a visual and acoustic warning signal indicates that the battery needs to be charged. For this purpose, the 3.7-kilogram battery system can be easily replaced via plug-and-play. Without battery power, the operator can simply switch to manual operation.

Support wheels can provide an optimal balance of traction and stability to achieve constant ground contact.
The selectable single or tandem castors are made of polyurethane. This material ensures quiet running, is abrasion-resistant and has good rollover behaviour. It also leaves no marks on light-coloured floors.
Forks of different lengths and widths are available for the MT15 C low lift truck. This allows the truck to be precisely adapted to any application.
As a multifunctional vehicle, the ML10 high lift truck enables easy and convenient transport and storage and retrieval of goods weighing up to 1,000 kg and raises the operator’s work surface to a comfortable height during order picking processes. Due to the generous ground clearance, even ramps or uneven surfaces do not pose any difficulty for the powerful vehicle.
Guards on the tiller head protect the driver’s hands from injury. The tiller arm is very long and low on the vehicle – the operator remains at a safe working distance from the high lift truck. When the operator releases the butterfly button, the ML10 and MM10 brake automatically. The same applies when the emergency button is pressed. An effective parking brake holds the truck securely on the slope and releases automatically when the drive switch is pressed. The low-slung metal cover protects the feet.

Before picking, the operator raises the pallet to a comfortable working height. This relieves the strain on the back when picking up and setting down the goods. Movement and lift of the vehicle can be controlled very easily via the ergonomically shaped tiller handle. Both hands are always on the double butterfly control. In addition, there is a belly switch on the tiller head so that the operator can brake the vehicle without effort.

MM10 and ML10 have powerful electric motors that guarantee a maximum transport speed of 4.5 kilometres per hour. This is complemented by a robust chassis and a reinforced fork structure that can effectively move any load up to 1000 kilograms total weight. The built-in charger is also important for performance: operators can thus charge the vehicle anywhere so that it is quickly available again. At maximum battery charge, these vehicles work non-stop for three hours. A display informs the operator about operating hours and battery discharge.

Service technicians can reach all main components behind a motor flap. In addition, the components are arranged in such a way that only a few wires are used. The robust DC drive motor is in use for a long time before maintenance is due. This reduces service costs. In addition, the battery requires no maintenance at all. The battery control ensures that the lifting function of the vehicle switches off at 20 percent residual battery capacity – this discharge protection increases the service life of the battery.
The electric high lift truck MM10i can be used flexibly in the company: The fork, for example, can be adjusted to an individual working height to relieve the back as an ergonomic workbench. When goods and materials are transported, the initial lift ensures greater ground clearance. This guarantees easy and safe handling. Protective devices for the hands, a long drawbar and an easy-grip parking brake offer a high degree of work safety.
